Hockway for Operators

Supporting Operational Facilities

Hockway's team of experienced engineers and technicians will travel worldwide to determine corrosion prevention requirements. Following a detailed site survey, a comprehensive report will be delivered to the client defining the full project scope and implementation plan.

Material Supply

Hockway supplies the full cathodic protection material package which includes anodes, accessories and in-house manufactured transformers and junction boxes.

Training

Training programs are tailor made to meet the specific client requirements and include both classroom and practical hands-on training covering:

Site Survey and Support Services

Collecting accurate site data and ensuring correct system installation are the foundations for a high quality and durable cathodic protection system. Hockway has a qualified team of engineers and technicians experienced in conducting this field-work.

Our field services form an integral part of our cathodic protection system design, project management and operational support services, and include the following:

Soil Resistivity Surveys

Detailed soil resistivity surveys using the Wenner 4-Pin Method and/or electromagnetic technique for calculating pipeline route resisitivity data and for locating shallow and/or deepwell anode groundbeds.

E- Log I Surveys

Detailed surveys for external well casing protection based on conducting current drainage surveys in conjunction with E Log I survey using either permanently installed impressed current transformer rectifiers and groundbeds or temporary power sources and temporary groundbeds.

AC Interference Surveys

Detailed pipeline integrity survey including measuring and monitoring the effects of both A.C. and/or D.C. interface, including carrying out specialist surveys associated with the collection of site data for A.C. modelling. Detailed A.C. modelling and design of A.C. and D.C. mitigation systems.

Current Drainage Surveys

Current drainage surveys on new and old buried piping or tankage systems to determine the actual cathodic protection current requirements.

Installation Supervision

Installation supervisory services which assist and oversee the installation of all types of cathodic protection systems; including internal cathodic protection and undertank cathodic protection, supervising the installation of conventional horizontal and vertical groundbeds, and all supporting monitoring/test facilities including permanently installed reference electrodes and coupons.

System Commissioning

Initial and final commissioning of completed cathodic protection systems including the setting up and operation of remote monitoring and control systems.

CIPS Surveys

CIPS - close interval "ON" and "OFF" pipe to soil potential surveys using computerised data loggers and GPS type current interrupters.

Coating Surveys

Detailed pipeline coating integrity surveys using Pearson or Direct Current Voltage Gradient survey equipment.

Existing System Survey, Audits, Maintenance and Monitoring

Review existing cathodic protection system operation, develop and implement corrective action plans. Conduct potential surveys and validate the performance of cathodic protection system components including transformers, bonds and foreign pipeline/road crossings.
